How to repost listings on Vinted

A stale listing can disappear from attention even when the Item is still a good match for a buyer. Vinted sorts search results by recency, so newer listings gradually push older Items down. This guide explains what a Repost does, what it does not do, and how to use reposting without turning your wardrobe into a burst of repeated listings.

Why an older listing gets buried

A Vinted search result is not a permanent shelf. As sellers add Items, older Items move farther from the newest results. A buyer searching for your category, brand, or size may never reach an Item that was easy to find when you first listed it.

Reposting addresses that recency problem by creating a replacement Item. The replacement is a new Vinted Item, with a new upload event for its photos. When the replacement is published, it can return near the top of recency-sorted results. Reposting is therefore useful for an Item that is still available, accurately described, and worth giving another chance.

Treat it as a fresh presentation, not as a way to change the age of the existing page. If the title, price, condition, or photos need correction, make those decisions before you send the replacement live.

What a Repost actually does

A Repost never edits the original Item. It creates a replacement Item on Vinted and uploads the photos again. Thriftly applies a subtle, randomized Photo Modification to each uploaded photo so the new upload is distinct without intentionally restyling your images. The replacement is built from the Item Lineage's base photos when a base is available, rather than repeatedly modifying the last reposted copy.

The original Item stays separate until you choose an after-repost action. For a manual Repost, the dialog lets you choose Delete current item, Hide current item, or Nothing. You can also choose to publish immediately or save the replacement as a draft. A successful draft Repost consumes quota even though it is not visible to buyers yet.

Before confirming, review the replacement's title, description, and price. The existing values are prefilled, but you can change the wording or choose a fixed price, a reduction by amount, or a reduction by percentage. A lower price can make sense after a quiet listing period, but a Repost does not require a discount.

What you keep and what you lose

The new Item keeps the listing information you decide to carry forward: its title, description, price choice, and the photos you approve for the new upload. You also keep control of the original until the after-repost action runs. If you choose Nothing, both Items can remain in your Wardrobe, so check for duplicate live listings before you finish.

Repost versus a paid Vinted bump

A paid Vinted bump and a Repost are different choices. A bump promotes an existing Item using Vinted's paid promotion system. It does not create the replacement Item described here. A Repost creates a separate Item and uploads a fresh photo set; it is a new listing workflow, not a paid placement for the old page.

Plan a cadence that respects buyers

Do not repost every Item at once. Choose quiet listings that are accurate, clear, realistically priced, and still worth another sale attempt.

Space small groups over several days, then choose the next group after you observe the response. Avoid duplicate live Items; if you keep the original briefly, clean it up once you decide which page to retain.

Remember that every successful Repost uses one unit from the shared reposts quota, whether it publishes or saves as a draft. Manual Reposts and scheduled Runs use the same allowance. See Billing & Usage before planning a large batch.

Clean up the original safely

Decide what should happen to the original before you confirm the Repost:

• Choose Delete current item when you are certain the original should disappear. Deletion cannot be undone.
• Choose Hide current item when you want to keep the old Item without leaving it publicly live.
• Choose Nothing when you need to compare pages or finish a separate review, then return to the Wardrobe and clean up deliberately.

If the replacement publishes but cleanup fails, do not publish the same replacement again. Vinted already has the new Item; finish the original's cleanup by hand. The failure of the after-repost action does not undo a successful Repost.

Let an Auto-Repost Schedule repeat the work

When an Item is a good candidate for regular resurfacing, create an Auto-Repost Schedule from the Wardrobe. Select one or more Items, choose Bulk Actions → Schedule Auto-Repost, and set an interval, preferred local time, and after-repost action. Selecting several Items creates one independent Schedule per Item, not one shared group.

A scheduled Run always publishes the replacement rather than stopping at a draft. The Schedule can keep, hide, or delete the original after the replacement publishes. Keep a Vinted tab open in the matching account and domain: any suitable open tab checks for due Runs, including a background or minimized tab. Thriftly never opens a Vinted tab for you. If every matching tab is closed, the Run waits until one is available, provided its Give-Up Window has not elapsed.

Several Items due together are spaced about two minutes apart, avoiding a single burst.

Questions

Does a Repost edit my old listing?

No. It creates a replacement Item. The old Item remains until the after-repost action deletes it, hides it, or leaves it alone.

Can I save a Repost as a draft?

Yes, a manual Repost can publish immediately or save as a draft. Scheduled Runs always publish, and both successful outcomes consume repost quota.

Do I need to close the original first?

No. Choose the after-repost action in the manual dialog or Schedule. If cleanup does not complete, keep the replacement and finish the old Item's cleanup separately.
