What a Repost is
Vinted sorts search results by recency, so an Item slowly sinks as newer ones appear. A Repost creates a replacement Item on Vinted with newly uploaded photos, which puts it back at the top when it is published.
The photos are not copied unchanged. Each one is uploaded again with a subtle, randomized Photo Modification, so the new upload is distinct without being restyled. That is covered on the Photo Modifications page.
A Repost never edits the original Item. What happens to the original afterwards is your choice, and it is a separate step from the Repost itself.
Reposts are metered: each successful Repost consumes one unit of your Account's reposts quota, whether the replacement was published or saved as a draft. Manual Reposts and Auto-Repost Schedules draw on the same quota. Quota mechanics are covered on the Billing & Usage page.
Reposting one Item by hand
From the Wardrobe, open an Item's ⋯ menu and choose Repost. The Repost Item dialog opens with the Item's data prefilled — "Adjust the details of the item you want to repost."
You can change:
- Title and Description.
- Price — either a Fixed price, or Reduce by amount, or Reduce by %. The resulting Final price is shown.
- Publish Mode — Publish immediately or Save as draft.
- After Repost… — Delete current item, Hide current item, or Nothing.
When it succeeds you get one of two confirmations: "The replacement was published successfully." or "The replacement was saved as a draft. The original Item was left unchanged."
If publishing worked but cleaning up the original did not, Thriftly says so plainly: "The replacement was published, but the original Item still needs cleanup. Do not publish it again." The Repost itself was successful — only the after-step failed, and you finish it by hand on Vinted.
To repost several Items at once, select them in the Wardrobe and use Bulk Actions → Repost Selected (n), which applies one shared set of settings to every selected Item.
Auto-Repost Schedules
An Auto-Repost Schedule reposts one Item over and over on an interval you choose. There is exactly one Schedule per Item.
Creating Schedules
Schedules are created from the Wardrobe, not from the Auto-Repost page. Select one or more Items, then choose Bulk Actions → Schedule Auto-Repost (n). Selecting several Items creates several independent Schedules with the same settings — not one shared group.
The dialog asks for:
- Repost interval — "Number of days between reposts."
- Preferred time — "The preferred local time of day for reposting."
- After-Repost Action — Keep, Hide, or Delete: "What happens to the original item once the replacement publishes."
Confirm with Schedule n items. Each Schedule owns its own After-Repost Action; it does not inherit anything from a manual Repost.
Auto-Repost Schedules require a Reseller or Merchant plan. On other plans the dialog says "Auto-Repost Schedules require a Reseller or Merchant plan." and offers View plans →. See Billing & Usage.
Scheduled Runs always publish. Unlike a manual Repost, a Schedule never stops at a draft.
Runs
A Run is one due instance of a Schedule — a single tick of its interval. Thriftly's Thriftly Session knows what is due, but only your browser tab holds the Vinted Session that can act on Vinted. So a Run needs a Vinted tab — not your attention.
- Any Vinted tab you have open checks Thriftly for due Runs about every three minutes.
- When one is due, that tab reposts the Item on its own. The tab can be in the background, unfocused or minimised, and you can carry on using it.
- Thriftly never opens or focuses a Vinted tab for you.
Keep a Vinted tab open and your Schedules run themselves. Close every Vinted tab and nothing runs until you open one again — a Run that came due meanwhile executes then, as long as its Give-Up Window has not elapsed.
Several Items due at the same moment are reposted one after another, about two minutes apart, so your Vinted account does not produce a burst of activity.
A Run only executes in a tab signed in to the same Vinted account as the Schedule's Workspace, and on the Schedule's own Vinted domain. With two devices or several tabs open, a Run still executes exactly once.
After a successful Run, the Schedule moves to the replacement Item and restarts its interval from the moment of publication.
The Give-Up Window
The Give-Up Window is how long a due, unfulfilled Run stays actionable before it is marked Missed and rolled to the next Run.
It is one global setting per user, on the extension's Auto-Repost page: "How long a due repost stays actionable before it's marked missed and rolled to the next occurrence. Applies to all your schedules." Every Schedule you have honors the same window.
The choices are 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours (default), 2 days, 3 days, and 1 week — one week is the cap.
A missed Run is not a failure of the Schedule. The Schedule stays active and simply waits for its next Run.
The Auto-Repost page
Open Auto-Repost in the extension sidebar to see every Schedule you have, grouped into four tabs:

Failed is a filter, not a lifecycle state: those Schedules are still active and will run again. A Missed outcome does not move a Schedule here — it stays under Active.
Each row shows Item, Domain, Interval, Preferred Time, After Repost, Next Due, and Last Outcome. Last Outcome is informational — Succeeded, Failed, Missed, or Quota exceeded — and never changes the Schedule's status by itself. Cancelled Schedules show a Reason instead: "Item no longer exists", "Item sold", or "Reason unavailable".
After Repost is editable in place on any Schedule that is not cancelled.
Above the list, Scheduled repost quota projects whether your remaining reposts cover every scheduled Repost until your quota resets. The estimate counts scheduled reposts only, not manual ones.
Statuses and what you can do
- Active — running. Offers Pause.
- Inactive — you paused it. Offers Resume.
- Cancelled — the system terminated it because the Item was deleted, could not be found, or sold. This is terminal; there is no resume.
Every Schedule can be deleted with Delete: "This cannot be undone. The item will no longer be automatically reposted."
Running out of quota
If your reposts quota is exhausted when a Run comes due, the Run does not happen and you get a notification: "Auto-repost paused — quota exceeded" — "You've used all your reposts this month. Upgrade to keep this schedule running." It is sent once per time you run out, not on every check.
This is the one thing Auto-Repost still interrupts you for, because it is the one thing only you can fix.
Despite the wording, the Schedule is not paused: it stays active with the last outcome Quota exceeded, appears under the Failed tab, and resumes on its own once your quota resets or you upgrade.
