Cookie Policy

The small number of cookies Thriftly sets, what each one does, and how we count visits without one.

Last updated: 23 August 2026

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise the browser on the next request. Thriftly uses very few of them and none for advertising.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

Authentication cookies keep you signed in to your Thriftly account and protect requests against cross-site forgery. Without them you cannot use the dashboard. They are set by Supabase authentication on our behalf and expire when your session ends or shortly after.

3. Preference cookies

The theme cookie remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system appearance, so the correct one is painted before the page appears.

The lang cookie remembers the language you selected, so the site does not fall back to browser detection on every visit.

Both are set only when you use the corresponding control, and both last up to one year.

4. Counting visits without a cookie

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It stores nothing on your device: no cookie, no local storage. Vercel recognises a visit by hashing the incoming request and discards that hash after 24 hours, so one visit cannot be joined to the next, and nothing follows you to another website.

Each page view records the page address, the site you arrived from, the country, region and city derived from your IP address, and your browser, operating system and device type. No page view is associated with your IP address. Workspace names, sign-in codes and payment references are stripped from the address in your browser, before the page view is sent.

Because nothing is written to your device, there is no analytics cookie to accept or refuse, and no banner asking you to.

5. What we do not set

Thriftly sets no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics cookies.

6. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and stop the dashboard from working.
