Install Thriftly in your browser

Thriftly is a desktop browser extension that works inside a signed-in Vinted tab. This guide follows the complete path from installation to the Wardrobe, explains which browser surfaces to use, and clarifies what Thriftly does with your Vinted Session. There is no mobile app, and there is no separate toolbar popup to configure.

Check the browser and device

Use a desktop Chromium browser. Thriftly installs from the Chrome Web Store and works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Arc. Other browser families are not part of this install path.

Thriftly does not have an iOS or Android app. Do not look for a mobile download or a phone install flow. The extension adds its working surface to supported Vinted web pages in your desktop browser, where it can use the Vinted Session already held by the open tab.

Before you start, have both accounts ready:

• A Vinted account that you can sign in to in the browser.
• A Thriftly account for the extension and website.

You do not need to enter your Vinted password into Thriftly. The two sign-ins happen in their own services and at separate steps.

Install from the Chrome Web Store

1. Open the Thriftly listing on the Chrome Web Store.
2. Select Add to Chrome.
3. When the browser asks for confirmation, select Add extension.

The store and browser may use Chrome wording even when you are using another Chromium browser. Edge, Brave, Opera, and Arc provide their own compatible extension installation flow around the same store listing.

After installation, do not expect the toolbar icon to open a panel. Thriftly has no toolbar popup, and its toolbar icon does nothing. The useful button appears on a supported Vinted page instead.

Sign in to Vinted first

Open Vinted in the same desktop browser and sign in before you open Thriftly. Thriftly needs an authenticated Vinted Session in that tab before it can read your Wardrobe or act on Vinted.

Thriftly activates on 23 supported Vinted domains, including their subdomains. To check whether your country is supported, see the supported Vinted domains list. On an unsupported site, the extension stays inactive and no floating button appears.

Use the Vinted page where you intend to work, not a separate tab where you are signed out. The Vinted Session is bound to the browser tab. If you sign out of Vinted or close that tab, Thriftly can no longer act through that session.

Open the panel from Vinted

On a supported Vinted page, look in the bottom-right corner for the floating Thriftly button.

1. Select Open Thriftly.
2. If the panel asks you to sign in to Thriftly, select Sign in.
3. In the new browser tab, sign in to Thriftly with your email and password or a supported social provider.
4. Return to the original Vinted tab.
5. Select Open Thriftly again.

The second click matters because the first click starts the Thriftly sign-in flow in a separate tab. Keep the original Vinted tab open while you complete that sign-in, then reopen the panel there.

If you opened the panel before signing in to Vinted, it reports Not logged in to Vinted. Dismiss the message, sign in to Vinted in that tab, and select Open Thriftly again. If the button is missing, check the domain and wait for the Vinted page to finish loading.

Start in the Wardrobe

After both sessions are available, the panel opens on the Wardrobe. The Wardrobe shows the Items belonging to the connected Vinted account and is the starting point for actions such as manual Reposts and Auto-Repost Schedules.

The Wardrobe reads Vinted through the Vinted Session in the current tab. It shows your Items only, and it does not change anything on Vinted until you select an action. If the Wardrobe cannot load, reload the Vinted page, confirm that you are still signed in, and open the panel again.

You can close the panel with Close Thriftly and reopen it later from the floating button. Keep a supported Vinted tab available when you want Thriftly to read current data or perform an action. Closing every matching Vinted tab also prevents unattended scheduled work from running until a suitable tab is open again.

Keep the two sessions separate

Thriftly never asks for, captures, or stores your Vinted credentials. It does not receive a Vinted password or Vinted token in your Thriftly account. Instead, it acts through the authenticated Vinted Session that already exists in the tab where you signed in.

Your Thriftly Session is different. It is the Thriftly account session created when you sign in on the website, and it lets the extension communicate with Thriftly. Signing out of Vinted ends the tab's ability to act for that Vinted account; signing out of Thriftly ends the extension's Thriftly authentication. Neither action turns the other service's credentials over to Thriftly.

Can I install Thriftly on my phone?

No. Thriftly is a desktop browser extension, not an iOS or Android app. Use a supported Chromium browser on a desktop device.

Why does the toolbar icon not open anything?

Thriftly has no toolbar popup. Open a supported Vinted page and use the floating Open Thriftly button in the bottom-right corner.

Does Thriftly receive my Vinted password?

No. Thriftly acts through the Vinted Session in the signed-in browser tab and never asks for, captures, or stores your Vinted credentials.
