Listing Generation is a page in the browser extension. You drop in every photo from one shoot at once, Thriftly sorts them into one group per item, and you correct the groups. Then Thriftly asks Vinted what category, price, size and parcel it suggests, writes the titles and descriptions with AI once you agree a price, and saves or publishes the items you approved.
It lives under Workspace → Listing Generation in the extension sidebar. There is no website version: every step that touches Vinted needs the live Vinted tab you are signed in to, and your Vinted Session never leaves the browser.
Thriftly is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Vinted.
Dropping in your photos
Choose photos, or drop them onto the page, all at once. JPEG, PNG and WebP are taken, up to 10 MB each. You can drop in more while the first batch is still uploading. A photo that is left out is named, with the reason — the wrong format, too large, or a failed upload.
Your work is saved on Thriftly's servers as you go, not in the tab. Closing the browser, changing machine or losing a tab loses nothing.
Correcting the groups
Thriftly groups the photos by when they were taken, read from each photo's own metadata. That time is only a hint: it decides nothing else. When no photo says when it was taken, Thriftly groups them in upload order instead and tells you the guess is rougher than usual.
On the board, each group is one item, with its cover photo first. Drag a photo onto another item to move it. Every drag is also in the photo's own menu, so the board works from the keyboard or a screen reader:
- Make this the cover photo
- Move earlier and Move later
- Move to another item…
- Split into a new item from here
- Take out of this item — the photo goes to the tray, where nothing is accepted or sent to Vinted
- Throw away — deletes the photo from this Listing Generation
Each item can also be Split, Merge up into the item above, or Discarded back to the tray. New empty item gives you a group to fill yourself. Undo (or Ctrl+Z) puts the last change back.
Nothing on the board touches Vinted, costs anything or starts a deletion clock. When the groups are right, Accept them: each group becomes an item to prepare. Photos left in the tray stay out.
Confirming the categories
Ask Vinted about every item starts a paced run over your items. It handles one item at a time, uploads that item's photos to Vinted, and asks Vinted for a category. It is marked free: no AI Credits are spent by this step.
The pace between items is your Workspace's Bulk Pacing setting for Listing Generation preparation, confirmed in the dialog before the run starts. Pressing Stop finishes the item in progress and then stops — it never abandons work half-done on Vinted.
Vinted's suggestion appears beside each item. Accept it, or pick another category yourself. Accept all suggestions (the button counts them) confirms every suggestion in one press. Where Vinted suggested nothing, the item says so, and you pick one.
The category is confirmed before anything is charged, because it decides which other fields exist and what the AI is told the item is. Write titles and descriptions stays unavailable until every item has one.
AI Credits and the price
Only the title and description are written by AI. Everything else is Vinted's suggestion or your own answer.
Write titles and descriptions prices every item at once, in one AI Operation Quote: a line per item and field with its price in AI Credits, the total, your balance now and afterwards, the listing language and the text template. It also names who receives each item's photos and its category, with links to the provider's privacy policy and to Thriftly's own.
The price holds for fifteen minutes. If it runs out while you decide, Price it again — that costs nothing. Nothing is sent and nothing is held until you confirm.
Prices are Thriftly's own fixed per-field prices, not the provider's usage. The same field costs the same today and next month, whatever the provider charged behind it.
If your balance does not cover every item, you can write the first ones your balance covers. The rest keep their photos, groups and confirmed categories, ready for when you top up. Buy AI Credits opens in a new tab and brings you back to the same choice.

Item Text Templates
A Template is a saved title Expression, a saved description Expression, or both, written in Item Text Expressions — your own words plus variables such as {title}, {price} and {category}. Applying one copies its expressions into the item; it does not stay linked, so editing the Template later does not change the item.
A Template that supplies a field outright means Thriftly asks the AI for less and you pay less.
Writing the text
The run writes one item at a time and shows which item it is on, how many are left and roughly how long. Titles appear as they are written. After each item's text arrives, Thriftly asks Vinted for that item's brand, size, colour, price and parcel size. That part is free.
A generation delivers every requested field or none. If the provider fails, refuses, is unreachable or answers with something unusable, the credits held for that item go back and you are charged nothing. One item failing does not stop the others.
Stop after this item finishes the item in progress and then stops. Credits are spent only on items whose text arrived. The rest stay held for this run, and Carry on writing spends what you already agreed — nothing is priced again. You can close the tab or the browser: the run waits, with its credits held, until the date it shows. You are warned before that date. If it passes, the credits go back to your balance on their own. Release gives them back straight away.
If your Vinted Session ends, the run stops and says where. Sign in to Vinted, then carry on. Thriftly never retries on its own.
Review, one item at a time
Review is a queue. Each item shows what a buyer sees — the cover photo, price, title, brand, size and condition — beside the words you can edit and the Vinted details. Each value says where it came from: Vinted, the AI, or you. The arrow keys move between items, Enter approves, and Skip for now brings an item back once the others are done.
Anything Vinted needs that is still missing is named, with likely answers offered in place where Thriftly has them. Saving your own wording is free.
If you change an item's photos or its confirmed category after its text was written, the text is marked out of date. Approval is blocked until you Keep these words, Edit them myself, or Write them again (costs credits) — a new price for that field alone.
Approving says the item is accurate, yours to sell and allowed on Vinted. It names one exact version: change a field, a photo or the photo order afterwards and the approval lapses, so you approve it again. Approving sends nothing to Vinted.
- An item with nothing missing can be published or saved as a draft.
- An item missing something Vinted needs can be approved as a draft only. Vinted accepts incomplete drafts but will not publish them.
A category that requires an ISBN cannot be published from Thriftly at all. Thriftly cannot fill one in, and says so rather than failing at Vinted.
To take an item out after accepting the groups, remove it in review. Its photos go back to the tray.
Sending to Vinted
Check and send shows what is going, what is staying behind and why, and the approvals you already gave. You do not confirm them twice. One run carries one mode for all of it:
- Save each one as a Vinted draft — drafts land unpublished and may still be missing a detail.
- Publish each one on Vinted right away — only complete items are offered. Thriftly cannot take a published item back.
The run goes one item at a time at your Workspace's Bulk Pacing for submission. Stop after this item takes effect between items; nothing already saved to Vinted is undone.
Each item settles on its own. The run ends on a summary with a reference and what happened to each item. A Vinted refusal leaves that item approved with the reason, so you can fix it and send again. If Vinted never answers, the item is frozen for checking: look in your Vinted wardrobe — if it is there, it is done. Thriftly never sends the same item twice.
Once Vinted accepts an item, Thriftly tries to keep its original photos as the new Item's base photos — which is the point at which they start counting toward your Photo Storage. If your Photo Storage is already full, the item is still saved and you are told the photos were not kept.
How long your work is kept
Nothing here is kept forever, and you are warned before anything goes. The page shows the date.
- Before you pay for text — seven days after your last change. You are warned one day before. Adding or moving a photo starts the seven days again; merely opening the page does not.
- After you pay for text — thirty days after text was last written, with a warning a week before. The period belongs to the whole Listing Generation, not to one item.
Keep for 7 days from today or Keep for 30 days from today moves the date. Delete it now removes every item, photo and answer on the page, after you type a confirmation word. Items Vinted already has stay on Vinted. Deletion waits if a Vinted submission is unresolved, if text is being written, if a run still holds credits, or if a credit refund or payment dispute is open.
Photos held here do not count toward your Photo Storage. Only originals kept as a base photo set after Vinted accepts an item do.
Recovering from the usual problems
"Open a Vinted tab and sign in, then retry." — Every Vinted step needs a live Vinted Session in this browser, on the same Vinted account the Workspace is connected to.
"You are signed in to a different Vinted account than this workspace uses." — Switch Vinted accounts, or switch Workspace, then run it again.
"Vinted stopped answering." — Sign in to Vinted again and run it once more. Items that were never started say so; nothing is silently skipped.
What Listing Generation does not do
- It does not group photos by what they show — only by when they were taken, or their upload order.
- It does not research comparable prices.
- It does not generate or enhance images.
- It does not let you pick the AI provider, and it never fails one operation over to a second provider.
- It does not invent any non-text fact — no brand, size, colour, condition, price or parcel size.
- It does not run in the background: nothing reaches Vinted that you have not reviewed and approved.
- It is extension-only. There is no website or mobile version.
