What the Notification Center is
The Notification Center is one inbox for everything Thriftly tells you about your Account. It lists the notices from all of your Workspaces together, newest first, and keeps them for 90 days.
Open it from the bell:
- Website dashboard: the bell sits in the sidebar header on a wide screen and in the top bar on a narrow one.
- Extension: the bell sits in the header.
On a wide screen the inbox opens as a popover. On a narrow screen it opens as a sheet.
The notices, and whether you have read them, belong to your Account. Read one in the extension and it is read on the website too.
Auto-Repost notices
Thriftly adds notices for Auto-Repost work, for both Schedules and the Default:
- Failed or Missed Runs: a Run that fails, or that misses its Give-Up Window, adds its own notice at once. A cancelled, skipped or sold Item adds nothing. While a Vinted connection problem stands for the Workspace, Thriftly holds back Missed notices, because the problem explains them.
- Successful Runs: plain successes don't add one notice each. Thriftly rolls them into one summary per Workspace and hour, counted by the hour the Run finished.
- Needs Attention: a successful Run whose original Item still needs cleanup adds a notice that stays open until the cleanup is resolved. For a Schedule, resolving the cleanup closes it. For a Default Run, Thriftly retries the cleanup itself while a Vinted tab is open and the Default is active, and closes the notice once the original Item is hidden, deleted or gone. If the Default is paused or removed first, the notice stays open until it expires after 90 days.
- Needs Attention, repost allowance: when you've used up your Repost allowance, you get one notice for your whole Account, not one per Workspace. It links to Billing. It closes when a Run is next able to use your allowance and no other Run is still refused by it. Pausing or deleting a blocked Schedule doesn't close it.
The Auto-Repost Digest email is separate.
You can filter by six categories: Successful Runs, Failed or Missed Runs, Needs Attention, Low Stock, Account Notices and App Updates.
Vinted connection needs attention
Thriftly also adds a Vinted connection needs attention notice under Needs attention. It appears when a Restocker order scan is rejected, when a Bulk Connections Run pauses because Vinted rejected the session or showed a challenge, or when a Bulk Connections preview is rejected because Vinted rejected the session. The notice names the Workspace and explains the problem:
- Session rejected: Vinted signed you out or rejected the session. Sign in to Vinted again in this browser.
- Challenge: Vinted is asking for a security check. Open Vinted in this browser and complete it.
You get one notice for each continuous problem, however long it lasts. The notice stays under Needs attention, read or unread, until Thriftly confirms that the connection works again. Thriftly confirms it when a Restocker order scan completes or a Bulk Connections Run changes a target on Vinted, whichever feature raised the notice. A skipped or failed target doesn't count. Reading the notice or choosing Mark all read doesn't clear it, and Thriftly doesn't add another notice when the problem ends. If the problem returns later, you get a new notice.
Fix it on Vinted in this browser. The notice doesn't link to a Thriftly screen, and it can't retry or reconnect for you. Restocker emails are separate: each affected Restocker sends one email for the problem.
Your Needs attention In-App choice decides whether a new notice appears. Turning it back on doesn't add a notice for a problem that began while it was off.
Auto Offer notices
Thriftly adds notices for Auto Offers work:
- Needs Attention, Rule or Default: your plan stopped covering Auto Offers. It closes when you resume or activate the Rule or Default, or when you cancel the Rule or remove the Default.
- Needs Attention, Rule only: the Vinted account is not the Rule's seller, an affected Item was reposted, or Vinted handled an Offer Message in a way Thriftly doesn't recognize. A notice closes when a verified activation succeeds, when the message changes, or when you cancel the Rule. A reposted Item's notice sits on the replacement Rule.
- Failed or Missed Runs, Rule or Default: an Auto Offer keeps failing. While a Vinted connection problem stands for the Workspace, Thriftly holds this notice back: that problem shows as its own notice.
Successful Auto Offers, routine progress and Offer Message edits add nothing. Your In-App choice for a category decides whether a new notice appears, and Thriftly adds no backlog when you turn it back on. Auto Offer notices live only here.
Account notices
Thriftly adds notices about your plan and billing under Account notices. They belong to your Account, not to a Workspace, so they name no Workspace and every one opens Billing on the website, from the website and from the extension:
- Trial ending: your Reseller trial is about to end. It closes when your subscription leaves the trial, whether you choose a plan or the trial ends.
- Trial ended: your trial ended. It is a record, not an open problem, so it never sits under Needs attention.
- Payment failing: your subscription is past due or unpaid. It closes when the payment recovers. If a payment fails again later, you get a new notice.
- AI Credits frozen: a payment dispute froze your AI Credits. It closes when the dispute closes. A second dispute adds its own notice.
Thriftly records one notice for each of these, however often it learns of the same event. Your Account notices In-App choice decides whether a new notice appears, and Thriftly adds no backlog when you turn it back on. Account notices have no email.
The trial emails are separate: Thriftly always sends them, whatever your notification settings say.
App Updates notices
Thriftly adds one App Updates notice for each extension version, for your whole Account. The extension reports a version when your browser has downloaded it and holds it ready, and again once it runs it; whichever report arrives first adds the notice, and a later report of the same version adds nothing. The extension reports in the background, so it needs no open panel, retries until Thriftly accepts or refuses the report, and reports only while you are signed in to Thriftly.
Another browser or a second tab that reports the same version adds no second notice. Reading it doesn't mark any installation updated. A version Thriftly learns about while the App updates In-App choice is off doesn't appear when you turn it back on.
What a notice offers depends on where you read it:
- In the extension: Update this extension appears only when this browser has downloaded that exact version. Otherwise the notice links to the Changelog entry when the entry is published. Without a link it tells you why: Thriftly is checking the release details, the release details are not published yet, Thriftly couldn't check them right now, or your browser hasn't downloaded the update yet.
- On the website: the notice links to the Changelog entry, or tells you to update from the extension in the browser that runs it. The website never updates the extension.
Restocker notices
Restocker adds notices for one Restocker at a time:
- Low stock: each time Stock crosses your Low-Stock Alert threshold, one notice states the Stock and threshold at that moment. Restocking later keeps the notice. When the alert rearms and Stock crosses again, you get a new one.
- Needs attention: each continuous blocker adds one notice. It closes when the blocker ends, read or unread. A different blocker closes it and adds a new one, unless the new blocker is a rejected Vinted session, which closes it and relies on the one shared Vinted connection notice. A successful Repost whose original Item still needs cleanup adds one too.
- Failed or missed runs: a source Item that Thriftly cannot Repost.
A Repost that is retried or waiting adds nothing. A rejected Vinted session adds the one Vinted connection notice for the Workspace, not one per Restocker.
Your In-App and Email choices are separate: each decides only its own.
Bulk notices
Thriftly adds notices when a bulk operation needs you. They go under Failed or missed runs, except one Needs attention notice for a Connection Run.
Connection Runs (Bulk Connections):
- Finished with issues: a Run that ends with issues adds one notice with its counts. A Run you cancel adds one only when some targets failed, and it counts only those failed targets. A clean finish, a cancel without failures, a wait and a cooldown add nothing.
- Paused, account restricted: when Vinted restricts your account, the Run pauses and adds a Needs attention notice. It closes when the Run resumes, is cancelled or ends. If the Run pauses for the same reason again, you get a new notice.
- A rejected Vinted session or a challenge shows only as the one shared Vinted connection notice, not once more per Run.
Wardrobe bulk actions (Repost, Duplicate, Delete, Item Edit, Auto-Repost Schedule creation and Listing Submission):
- The extension reports each finished Run in the background, so it needs no open panel. It retries until Thriftly accepts the report, and one Run adds at most one notice.
- A notice appears when items failed, or when the Run stopped for a plan or allowance limit or an unexpected failure.
- Pressing Stop with nothing failed adds nothing. Items the Run never touched count as untouched, never as failed. A retry reports only its own Run, so earlier failures are not counted again.
Your Failed or missed runs and Needs attention In-App choices decide whether a new notice appears. Thriftly adds no backlog when you turn one back on.
No desktop notifications
Thriftly shows no desktop notification at all and asks your browser for no notifications permission. Everything it tells you is a notice in the Notification Center. If your Thriftly session expires, the extension shows its normal sign-in prompt instead of a notice, because a signed-out inbox cannot be read.
Find a notice
Use the views at the top to narrow the list:
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | Every notice from the last 90 days |
| Unread | Notices you have not marked read |
| Needs attention | Notices whose problem is still open |
Then filter by Workspace, by category, or both.
Read and unread
Opening the inbox changes nothing. A notice stays unread until you mark it.
- Mark a single notice read or unread from its own entry.
- Mark all read marks every notice in your Account, not only the ones in view. Notices that arrive afterwards stay unread.
Reading a notice does not fix what it reports.
You cannot archive or delete a notice. It leaves the inbox on its own after 90 days.
Following a notice
A notice only takes you somewhere. It never changes anything for you, except that Update this extension applies a downloaded update to the extension in this browser.
- Restocker notices: open that Restocker on the website dashboard, from the website and from the extension. If the Restocker was deleted or can't be opened, the notice stays readable without a link.
- In the extension: an Auto-Repost notice opens the Auto-Repost screen of its Workspace when that Workspace is the active one. An Auto Offer notice opens the Auto Offers screen: the rules list for a Rule, the Auto Offer settings for the Default. A repost allowance notice and every Account notice open Billing on the website. Otherwise it tells you that you manage this in the extension when that Workspace's Vinted account is the active one.
- Bulk notices: in the extension, a Connection Run notice opens that Run's history and a Wardrobe bulk notice opens the Wardrobe, when that Workspace is the active one. Otherwise the notice tells you it belongs to another Workspace. Opening either never retries, resumes or starts a Run. On the website the notice explains that you manage it in the extension.
- On the website: Auto-Repost and Auto Offer work is managed in the extension, so the notice explains that instead of linking to a page. A repost allowance notice and every Account notice link to Billing.
If the item a notice names no longer exists, the notice stays in your history to read, without a link.
Notification settings
Choose what Thriftly delivers, and where, in the Notification Center. To open the settings, select Notification settings (the gear) in the inbox header. Back returns to the inbox.
The settings belong to your Account, not to a Workspace. One choice applies to all of your Workspaces, in the website and in the extension.
Email and In-App
Each channel has a master switch:
- Email notifications turns every optional email off or on.
- In-app notifications turns every new notice in the inbox off or on.
Below the master switches, a table lists the six categories with one switch per channel. When you turn a master off, the category switches grey out but keep their values. Turn the master back on and your category choices return as they were.
By default, In-App is on for every category. Email is on for Failed or missed runs, Needs attention and Low stock.
Categories that have no email
Email is not available for Successful runs, Account notices and App updates. Their Email switches are off and disabled, with the label Not available by email.
What the choices change
- In-App off for a category: Thriftly adds no new notices in that category. Notices already in the inbox stay, and notices that Thriftly skipped while the choice was off don't appear when you turn it back on.
- Email off for a category: Thriftly sends no email for it. This covers the Auto-Repost Digest, Restocker operational emails and Low-Stock Alert emails. Turning email back on doesn't send what happened while it was off.
- Essential mail: sign-in, security, trial and required account emails are always sent. These settings don't control them.
